Children's Theater of Madison Musical / play Live at Capitol Theater At Overture Center for the Arts | Madison – December 12th, 2026
The Capitol Theater at the Overture Center for the Arts is more than just a pretty building; it’s a vibrant hub where the community comes together to celebrate film, art, and local talent. Kids and families especially love catching special screenings during Madison’s film festivals, where emerging filmmakers get a shot and tiny stars are born. Back in 2014, the theater hosted a really cool retrospective spotlighting local artists, which gave everyone a chance to see Madison’s creative side up close. The place got a major facelift in 2004, turning it into a sleek, modern space without losing that vintage charm that makes it feel cozy and historic at the same time. If you’re into the experience of sitting close to the stage, the Orchestra section is your best bet, though it might be a bit tricky to access if anyone in your group has mobility concerns, trust me, the Mezzanine can be a climb. Luckily, the Overture Center is super accessible by public transit, especially if you’re coming from the west, just hop onto University Street and turn onto State. For Children’s Theater of Madison and Madison, this venue is a fantastic spot to introduce young ones to the magic of live performances, and it’s always buzzing with energy and creativity.
